operating system into two types they are:

computer system, which facilitates the running of a variety of software
packages as well as allowing users to develop and executes programs of their
own. eg. Ms-Windows, DOS, Mac OS etc.

Multi User Operating System
The multi user operating system is a system
software which allows concurrent access by multiple users of a computer. It
also allows many different users to take advantage of the computer resources
simultaneously. eg : Unix, Windows 2003 Server, Windows NT, Novell Netware etc.

Why are GUI Operating systems more
popular than CUI operating system these days? Discuss.
Ans:
In CUI operating system, users are required to type all the commands to perform
any task in the computer it means we have to type commands into a prompt and
the computer executes them but in GUI based operating system, we can give
commands to the computer by clicking on icons, menus and buttons using mouse so
it is very easy to operate computer with GUI based operating system and because
of its user friendly features GUI is more popular than CUI based operating
system these days.
